2006 brought with it some travel that hasn’t happened in many years. There was a visit to NYC (Manhattan), Washington DC, Baja California, and best of all … London. 2007 travel plans are more modest: Catalina, Ojai, San Francisco, and Utah. Traveling has so many rewards, and I look forward to lots more of it as the years pass. Where have you traveled to? What resources do you use to plan your trips? Where are you going next?

Travel!
Friday, March 30th, 2007Lily Tomlin

Lily Tomlin performed at the Cerritos Performing Arts Center on March 24, and it was impressive in several ways. First, I had never been to the Center, and it is a wonderful venue! Lily entertained us for an hour and 45 minutes, and the laughs were nonstop. But most impressive is how effortlessly and energetically she bowed, jumped, and bounced around the stage … at the age of 68! It should be inspirational to anyone over the age of 50 who wants to build/retain their flexibility and endurance.
Anyone planning on taking in a performance at the Center? Which one?
MySpace
Friday, March 23rd, 2007
MySpace was established to let bands reach their audiences and expand their fan bases, and it gained enormous popularity among teenagers in this role. This purpose and demographic has changed. The number of adults on MySpace has increased quite a bit. Because of this age shift, MySpace’s place as a communicative medium is probably not yet fully defined. But, no matter what the age, I have found that users are almost always single. I jumped into the fray to see what it’s all about. After taking a look at my presence, if you’re on MySpace, ask to be my friend!
Beer Tasting Party
Wednesday, March 14th, 2007
There are probably thousands of beer lables that fall into hundreds of categories, and some people even make their own beer at home! I was invited to a beer tasting at Vin de Pays (located in the Arts District of Long Beach), and it turned out to be fun. The place is small and quaint. Our server, Sean, served up 8 different kinds of beer for $13, peanuts included. If you’re at all into beer, I recommend the experience. (No, I don’t think I’ll start making my own beer. But I’ve been invited to a Cinco de Mayo party where the host does make two kinds of beer. Can’t wait.) Post Cinco de Mayo: check out my comment below.
